Re: Kites for teenagers

Price/quality/durability/safety mix seems about right on the single skins e.g. Flysurfer Peak. If you are willing to consider pumping, my kids are enjoying the Naish Boxers which you can find on clearance. I prefer foil kites for me, but the safety behavior dropping the bar on a tube kite appeals to...

LF Galaxy Board 2019

Does it require a gasket between the foil mast plate and rage bottom of the board? The earlier models had a vee bottom in the area of the tracks that required a gasket.

Re: Large compact wings for surfing on a hydrofoil

I have only one mast, 90 cm; I would not use it with less because of the span of the wing, it gets out of the water quite early... I was thinking that when I put the 820 on the 75cm mast -- kept poking a tip out and falling. Then I got used to it and I'm not really sure I'd want to go longer, altho...

4.3 or 4.4kg.
You don't feel it on the water
Wear a helmet! The Crusizer wing is heavy too. I suspect its solid carbon. The race wing is much lighter. The feedback helps as I am considering that KeNalu clearance looks nice in price.

Re: Large compact wings for surfimg on a hydrofoil

I’m riding a Levitaz Cruizer and 100 cm and really enjoy underpowered wave riding. Speed range 9-18 knots. But I’m super impressed with the Ketos gear I’ve seen. I’m curious what length mast you are using? And stabilize? The Also, do you wear a GPS? If so, what is the speed range? Finally, does the ...

Re: how important is pre-inflation?

I would keep the bar in until the kite is full enough to rise to zenith and not collapse. Probably about 75% full. Rocking the bar left and right can speed inflation at the tips. Less preinflation results in a more gentle launch as the kite fills slowly as it rises. Try practicing in 8-12 knots in a...

Re: New bandage for cuts - ZipStitch

The Dermbond is octyl-cyanoacrylate. It forms a more flexible glue layer and is nice to use. FDA explodes the cost and limits access. (25-40 dollars) There is another dental cyanoacrylate = Isodent. Is more comparable in consistency to superglue in the store. I like to use plain old superglue and so...

Re: New foiler- straps setups

I liked a single front foot hook to start. Just enough to position the board for waterstart but easy to escape.

While foothooks will breaks, they cost less than an ankle.

Re: Kite Tech Tips: Brummel Splice

Looks functional to me. A finer thread might help the lock stitch look more elegant.
