Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

Don't really see relevance in questions? :) The bar pressure is irrelevant coz at this stage we have no clue what bar pressure is translating to. It's just a 'guesstimate', no real data exist. Or does it. You can get a reasonable upper bound on the bar pressure and rear line tension through guessti...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Self launch seems straight forward once I practice a bit. Self landing seems sketchy. Any tips? Commit! If you get way overpowered and you are in trouble, self land in the water while riding downwind. The water will help stick the kite down and riding downwind reduces apparent winds. Best to practi...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

TomW: Try the shortest knot on an Ozone bar. That should give you a trace of backstall with the bar on the chicken loop. The option for a propeller turn is quite nice, as is the option to pull the kite back into the window if you hydrofoil down wind of the kite. If you decide you don't like its easy...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Hudster: An important question often missing from these questions is "what do you want:" Foiling 360s, best angle to the mark or high jumps? Over or under powered? Smaller or bigger kite? Faster turning, or more lift? More stability or more efficient? Right now HL 9 is my biggest kite and I'm tourin...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

I'm using 300 lb q-power on the rears and 600 lb on the fronts. This is for light wind hydrofoiling with 30m lines. Its quite thin. I have used 200 lb (90 kg) on a bar set up for my then 60 lb kid to buggy with. I broke a line buggying with it myself. I can't remember if it was 200 x 4 or 200 rear 3...

So what's the stall speed?

Re: Multiple kites or multiple bars

Both change in kitesize and line length change timing. The change to slower turnig of a bigger kite is more intuitive for me. For example very short lines mean a very fast change in angle meaning waterstart is more challenging. Long lines have a slower pendulum effect when jumping. I prefer changing...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Total weight of five zips/ velcroe/ net is located at the leading edge and that is the reason of HL dive in light air Tadeusz I'm with KiteExpert on this one. The Hyperlink is balanced well in weight. Aerodynamics have a much bigger role and FS can demonstrate experimentally with Soul and older kit...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Wow that is light! Do you know if the cloth is ripstop nylon or ripstop polyester?

Also just a consideration: it will fly great on 25m lines, but there is a 20% length difference between 25m and the 30m line I am using to get max low end.

Re: Mutants for stupid conditions!

I've been having fun with the Liquid Force Space Craft. Works pretty good in either direction, but favors the pointy end. I applied some yellow tape so I can spot on the water. http://i65.tinypic.com/29234tv.jpg If you took the pads off that SpaceCraft would the straps be symmetric? Or does a rider...
