Re: Ozone Uno for young, light weight rider?

I have the 4 and 6 Uno V2. I use them to fly witk my 3 kids - 10 14 and 16 ranging 60-115 lbs. Great kites to fly with kids both for land training and on water. My 14 year old is becoming independent enough in the water that soon the 10 yo will get to learn in the water. They also make reasonable in...

I definitely would consult the ancient wisdom contained in early posts by PumpMeUp before attempting to fly an HQ hydra.

Re: Open cell ram airs on water- anyone tried lately?

Open cell foil kites and a repurposed wind surf/SUP board would not be the first choice for somebody learning kiteboarding. If you are compelled to try, keep your paddle with you or arrange a down wind pickup. OP is talking about the simplicity of rolling up an unrelaunchable open cell kite if neede...

Re: Ozone Hyperlink vs. Airush Ultra

Regarding 14.5 Flite or a larger Ultra compared to 12 hyperlink: Yes to turn faster. No to have better low end power. The one caveat is if you are driving slow upwind in waves that push you downwind and kill kite power in medium light winds e.g. on a surf board strapless then maybe same power. If yo...

Re: How do you teach foilboarding?

Definitely agree with learning water start with a low volume board. Its way easier for strapped and strapless water starts. I like strapless to escape the falling foil. A bigger board is less punishing during touchdowns and may be less intimidating when learning to fly. I switched to a MHL lift boar...

Re: Why would a city want Kiteboarders

Its a tough sell unless there are good enough conditions to draw tourism.

I would focus on safe organization to avoid harassing other beach users.

Are you facing a ban? Where?

Re: T1D - how do you cover your tools in the water

I use Tegaderm to drape the eye lashes away from the sterile field in cataract and LASIK surgery. But from time to time I am called to see a patient in the hospital as well. Nurses commonly use to cover IV sites.
