Re: Q-Powerlines on Flysurfer

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_friction_hitch_knots I have used a Prusik to convert a FS 5th line system (FDS) to the mini fifth (FLS). It will slide a little when you activate the safety. The nice thing is you can adjust the safety line length when line length is adjusted. I would test it th...

There is a cleat and a long bitter end so it can be adjusted while hiking out. Sailboat style is a good description.

"4:1 race style depower"
Racers like it because its easier to set the trim exactly right. If you are trimming a lot especially while riding powered, the forces are less.

If you are more inclined to set it and forget it, then 4:1 is not going to do much for you.

Re: flying a foil kite- tips needed

First what is power, it is pull from the kite caused by lift and drag. Pull, lift and drag are all forces. They are vectors. Power is force•velocity or Energy/time. It’s a scalar. High aspect foils are powerful, because they make a big pull when they fly fast. IIRC when FS kites had a WAC line, peo...

Re: Small Kites who is making them?

Please don't judge all foil kites based on the A15. I am considering an A15. What is it that you did not like about yours? Its not a bad kite. Its also not a small kite so sorry to hijack the thread. The price is right, it flies in light wind, and it makes enough pull to get on hydrofoil. Construct...

Re: A15 15m first impressions

I hang them to dry in my shed with brass tea cup hooks in the terminal loops of the Z bridles. I used to do a hair dryer where I removed the heating element. Now I just let it hang a few days if needed. 20 liters no problem. Be patient. I have even swam to the kite, turned it leading edge up, unwrap...

Re: Tuning an Ozone hyperlink

Plenty of use on mine and no tuning. So I’m with Mossy. I would inspect everything and especially the blocks and mixer lines to make sure there are no wear before a vacation.

Re: Small Kites who is making them?

I have a 9 A 15 ultralight that I need to get around to listing for sale. All white. Flown 3x, once on water. Also a Pansh 6m all green. Its a genesis I think - closed cell. Flown twice.

So if you like it make me an offer I can't refuse.

Re: Small Kites who is making them?

might have a chance to test my A15 this afternoon... Please don't judge all foil kites based on the A15. Regarding small kites I like Ozone Hyperlink in 5m. I'm also curious about the CA Waves. But foil kites lose any advantage over 20 knots and can be a pain to land. Ozone Uno lacks in rigidity. I...
