Re: 2018 Spleene High Tech Door - experience?

500 g on a kite is a big deal. On a board you won’t feel it in the water, only carrying it to the beach. Possibly hanging off your feet in the air or during board off tricks, but we’re talking light wind Shape, fin and flex are so much more important. The same manufacturer will update a board and so...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono,Hyperlink, Soul

I wonder why we don’t hear more about Chrono V3? I like Hyperlink quite a lot. We are blessed with plenty of steady wind. Speed 4 8 Lotus used to be my go to kite for hydrofoil. Now it’s Hyperlink 7. I have the 9 for our light wind days. I don’t need a bigger kite, but could use one if I wanted more...

Whats it like in Tanzania? The photos I see look stunning. I can't imagine a want to travel for kite if I had such emerald beaches.

Re: Vertical Drop w Fly Surfer

It sounds like a front stall to me. Did it collapse in the middle or at the wingtips. One side or both? Sometimes it helps to fly the kite in light wind on the beach and see if you can duplicate the behavior by putting the kite in extremis. Generally I find the foil kites recover better than tube ki...

Re: Vertical Drop w Fly Surfer

Not quite following you.
Did it front stall?

If it’s flying bad, check line lengths and do mixer test.

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

I think it would help build the foil kite brands to have demo centers and local shop representation for their kites big and small.

EVA Blocks from Blue Planet look like the ticket to me.

Re: Marginal wind kites ?

Add to the list single skin e.g. FS Peak and Gin Shaman. The most compelling videos I have seen are Regis on the Pulsion and KiteFinder crew on the Peak. Also open cell foils might have lighter construction than closed, and if relaunch is off the table it may be easier to roll an open cell or single...

Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

So I did 50 touch down jibes today and 30 attempts at a flying jibe. Nailed just one. It was sweet. Top tips were practicing ski stance on the balance point, waiting to feel the kite lift, and the little pump to unweight the board. Thank you all so very much for the tips. I’m sure it will be some ti...

Re: How to crash advice

Kite high, bar sheeted in, dangle gently away from the foil and board. Best to bail early rather than late. Biggest risks are riding down wind slack lines and trying to edge against the foil like a twin tip. It helps to set the bar to just a touch of backstall so pulling the bar all the way brings t...
