Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

Yes. And I travel 30 minutes or less to kite in this subtropical paradise where I live a mile from work, don’t sit idling my car in traffic, fly relatively little, and love life. And regarding worries, global warming concerns me less than pretty much any other form of pollution. Certainly less than ...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

Nope. I’m looking forward to increased biodiversity that would come with a warmer planet. Cold water sucks (heat out of my body). Plus dinosaurs!

Re: Freerace board riding tips

1) Keep it flat.
2) Try riding slower with the back foot out of the straps and a more upright position for starters. Then learn to hike out as you build power and speed.

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

On another thread IWB2 says his sweet spot on Hyperlink 7 is 14-18. Rides it 12-22. Sounds about right to me. I think the top end for me is a little higher on foil and quite a lot higher on surfboard and twin tip. 7 is my most used kite, though at the moment I've been switching between 5 and 9 to s...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

So whats your top end on the 7 with non mega wing? I don't know because I'm mostly interested in pulling myself into surf and then forgetting the kite. Only very rarely would I test the top end. And I've ridden the Levitaz Aspect wing only 3 or 4 times now. I'm almost always on the Cruiser. Yesterd...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Two sessions yesterday both with 20 meter lines. The 7 is the size I use most and would have been optimal for me in these conditions. I took the 5 then the 9. First tooling around underpowered on the HL 5 with a big wing. In lulls I would need a loop to start. Most of the time not. There was plenty ...

Re: Upwind Rotations

Ha! I have the opposite problem. I’d like to do a carving 360. When I make it around on foil it usually feels like I stop and pivot around the mast. I can’t figure out how to open up the turn. Most of the time the result is a swim. And downwind my turns are too wide only resulting in slack lines if ...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Anyone mess with this tiny secret profile adjusters yet. I’m kinda curious on them. Go figure there’s a cyclone hitting today in Northern Africa and I’m without my kite. Kinda wondering what kind of effect I’ll get out of my 15m if I play with them a little. Yes. Not in Soul but in 2013 Speed 4 del...

Re: Atlanta kiting

I started in Augusta and kited Lanier once. Now I live in TX.

I would strongly recommend learning to get up wind before riding Georgia lakes.

The fingers in the shoreline turn a walk of shame from yards into miles.

Re: Flysurfer Soul

How is the hyperlink a good first foil? You accidentally tomahawk it and blow it up and you are fucked. With Flysurfer warranty, they’ll fix it for free. I sure wouldn’t want to fly my kite afraid all the time that I might damage it. Seems like we are reaching here. Not really hearing reports of ex...
