HELP!!! - Aeropostal and checked in baggage...

hi all, need a quick answer before the flight i need disappears again... flying from Caracas Simon Bolivar to Porlamar on the 24th of Feb, but on their site they say they don't accept sporting equipment at all as checked in baggage! has anyone used them before with a kitebag or other sporting equipm...
