Re: 2010 Underground FLX

I had no problems using boots on a 2007 FLX (the first year with the wood core).

Re: Flotation Vest / Impact Vest

I use the JetPilot A-10 vest now and like it. I used to have an O'Neill Vapor and that had a bit more flotation. Something like that is definitely a good flotation/impact compromise. It never rode up and very comfortable.

Re: Guaranteed way to Kite Better

One more here who thinks that heavier is better. I switched to bindings about a year ago and immediately felt the extra weight on my feet made things much smoother, especially rotations.

Re: Cabrinha safety leash problem

That seems to have got a few of you worked up! I'm NOT suggesting recklessly riding without a leash. I'm saying that the best way to depower a 2006/7 Cabrinha Crossbow is to pop the bar past the stopper. It actually works better than using a leash to the single front line flagging ring. Until you're ready to unhook you don't need a seperate leash at all on those kites. Your primary safety is to push the bar through the stopper so you're "leashed" through the depower line. I've never had a problem riding this way in the last 4 years. If you're worried about accidentally coming unhoo...

Re: kitesurfing themed birthday cake

My wife made one for me once. She used one of these for the figure. (I know it's a snowboarder but it's close enough). She made a kite with pipecleaners for the lines so it stayed up. Definitely "homemade" style rather than professional, but that just made it funnier. I might have a photo somewhere.

Don't worry. It's not the first time that Germans have tried to take over the world, and we all know how the last two ended.

Re: let's start the safety debate again...incredible vid!!

The video's obviously fake but very nicely edited. Not sure why people are still trying find tiny hings to prove it's fake when that's been done . A couple of thing this thread really proves is that: - RickI has an unnatural and creepy inclination to anything where people might die. - RickI can suck...
