Re: According to Google Trends, kiteboarding is declining in popularity

I don't know if kiteboarding/surfing is declining, but I can assure you that snowkiting is on the decline. Not that I mind. Kite sports require a lot of space and it gets dangerous when a launch spot gets crowded. A lot of people take lessons, but give up on the sport. Plus, it is a sport that takes...

Re: Skyline / Strawberry snow conditions?

Strawberry is not ready - not even close  Skyline is still pre-season conditions with exposed rocks and sagebrush. It is the worst start to winter that I have seen in the past 20 years. We have had a high pressure ridge over much of the west, so storms are going to the north of us. Head to Wyom...

Re: Nick Jacobsen World Record 277 Meter with Team Brunel

So why is it that a pro kiter towed up to 270m and gliding down is considered “cool”, but gliding 100m of the deck over the snow is considered foolish? My 2 cents is that the tow up is the kook part. The force on the lines gliding down is minimal compared to the tow up. Oh and it is great that he wo...

Re: Is snowkite kiting colder than winter kite boarding

It is much easier to dress warm for a day of Snowkiting compared to kiting on the water. In the spring we often have the choice to ride water or snow. Unless the air temp is above 60 for the water, I pick snow. Like the water, it is your appendages that you have to keep warm on super cold days, but ...

Re: How does Kiteboarding translate to snowboarding

If you live in a location where you can snowkite in the mountains, forget snowboarding and skiing. Why not have the best of both worlds - kiting and no stinking lift lines!

Re: Ozone Edge V9 vs OR flite vs Core XR5

I have a quiver of Core XR's. I love em. They boost great, but what I really like about them is that the landings are always nice, even in the smaller sizes. They are built more durable than the edges. You may not want to even consider a foil, but if you have an open mind, the one kite i would add t...

Even with a team, do you really want to mess with a Cat 5 Storm? The potential for a deadly acceleration is high for a storm that size.

Re: Is the twintip a dying breed?

You guys are forgetting about Maui. Riders there are out on hydrofoils in 30+ knots. It is not just lightwind foiling like you see in SoCA and Florida, they ride foils every day that there is wind. How do you tell a Maui local from a tourist? The local is wearing a full wetsuit and riding a hydrofoi...

Re: FS Sonic Race review anyone?

Kami, it sounds like you are just guessing. Have you flown a Sonic Race? My question is aimed at someone who has flown the Sonic Race with a twintip. Yes, I understand that the Sonic Race was designed for Hydrofoiling, but my experience has been that so called "racing" kites turned out to be a lot o...

Very very light bar pressure. Overall, nice. A complete waste of time and money for a twintip or surfboard.
Please explain why.

Thanks much!
