Re: North Getting Serious About Foil Race Kites

It makes sense that race kites get sold at a big discount. They are so fragile that most don’t have much of a shelf-life.

Re: Drone recommendations

. Their drone is a great tool but it will kinda sucks because you can only really film your buddies . It takes a bit of time to be able to record something that is worth editing when it comes to following a moving target. It is not the kinda thing your going to do without dedicating a few batteries...

Re: North Getting Serious About Foil Race Kites

It is not surprising that North decided to enter the fray, it just seems like they are a little late to the party at least as far as the Olympics is concerned, but perhaps that is not their goal at all. It will be interesting to see how their kites perform compared to the competition that has been w...

Re: Sonic 4 12m vs Chrono v4 11m

The sonic is easier to jump, with more hangtime, but the Sonic yanks harder and can probably get higher. The Sonic was more predictable and easier to land. First, The sentence above doesn’t make sense as you seem to be comparing the Sonic to the Sonic. Second, the Chrono 4 is an older model a...

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

The 3 top jumps on woo were made in Denmark and the 4th was made in New Zealand, none of them the places where you say is a "cheat" to get a good jump. The top 3 in Denmark were off wave kickers. Not sure of the conditions in New Zealand. I never said it is easy to jump over 20 meters. That is true...

By your definition, all of the top jumps should be disqualified as almost all were done using waves as a kicker. Some also occurred in areas with natural uplift such as dunes or cliffs. Pl...

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

. Using a big kite and waiting for uplift gust to catch at the right time is perhaps not real jumping either but certainly you can have it and apparently it gets you very high and must feel great. Woo may not accept this kind of jumps but record them as getting lofted, again because acceleration pa...

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

. It definitely needs to be a separate category. It’s way too easy to jump higher than water Kiters. I’ve had jumps last well over ten minutes and have been hundreds of feet in the air taking off from a hill.
Wayne, the Woo will not register glides.

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

Hi Kitexpert, I sure would not label myself as the snow kiting king. I know other riders that jump higher, farther, etc. I think the conditions you have experienced are far different than what I see where I live. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t regularly jump over 20m on snow, that is a rare setup. ...

Re: Flysurfer Sonic 4

Gestalt,

What foil setup are you using?

I am surprised that you are having backstall issues with the 12. If you are not expert at tuning the kite, I would ask an expert to look at it. A lot of foil kites are unfortunately not tuned properly coming from the factory.
