Re: Beach to be banned? Unbelievable story!

Come on guys, there are many actions that are responsible for disturbing shore birds, and kiting is one of them. Instead of blaming everybody else, let’s promote awareness and information that will help us as kiters to do our part for old mother earth. This will go a long way to help keep the kiting...

Re: Carbon Fibre in boards??

Sorry brokite bros. I wasnt clear with my statement. There is no use for carbon Fibre s running at 90 deg on a wood core board. The core supports its self in this direction. Foamcore boards will need Fibre s running at 90 deg. A good way to tell if you have a poorly designed woodcore board is to lo...

Re: Carbon Fibre in boards??

The fibres running a 90 are almost useless for board construction. They offer no torsional or longitudinal stiffness. In effect a waist of material adding weight but not performance.... Thus making the use of carbon moot.... Stupid. The fibres need to be going in the direction that the stiffness an...

Re: Carbon Fibre in boards??

Love this discussion; it really helps expose fact from fiction when it comes to carbon fiber kiteboards. I have been working exclusively with carbon fiber for the last 30 years, starting with windsurfing, building world cup boards with Angulo for his team from Maui in the late eighties, then latter ...

Re: closed cell foam floats

Thanks for the lead. We build Brokite boards in Corpus and have been making heelies to go with the straps. Back in the day we used bike tubes, but we have been trying a lot of things lately and have come up with a combination of surgical tubing and those floats. We too have been taking them off our ...

closed cell foam floats

We are trying to find out some info on the foam material that is used as a float on the kite bar. This material could be described as closed cell flexible foam tubing with a slick outside finish. This piece of tubing is used on the bar usually has .5” ID X 1” OD X 10” long. It is used to cover the b...

Re: Need help - broken another board :-(

"Do these boards have good pop?" Hell ya, We are the only board builder around that uses carbon fiber the way it should be. Instead of just laying it on the surface of the core we cut the core into five sections and integrate the carbon between these sections to form stringers. We are in essences bu...
