One more question! I guess what I'm trying to find out is: With the design of faster turing kites are longer bars still that neccessary. Do modern kites take a bit less input to get respectable steering, or is the amount of input required the same as it always was? I'm getting a 16m and a 10m with 5...

Any more opinions?

What do most people out there have as a bar length for their 16m kites?

What seems to be standard for 12m?

just looking for more input.

Bar length question?

How much difference to kite turning performance does 10cm of bar length make. Specifically will I notice a big difference between a 50 and 60cm bar on a 16m kite?

anyone know a good guideline for bar length to kite size?

Thanks

Got one more question: Regarding the big balls toeside downwind U-turn while crank'n the kite to the edge. Ive done that a million times on snow but without going to toeside. I just do a heelside slide/turn and end up going in the other direction pretty much straight downwind for just enough to get ...

How to slow down?

Am self taught on snow and into my first season on the water. The time spent on my snowboard has helped heaps, but there are definitely some differences. On snow I can use my whole edge to slow my board speed and get the kite to the edge. On water its not as easy. What do I need to concentrate on to...

Tape for Sleeving??

Can you use hockey tape for line sleeving? ie. just lay the line along the long edge of a three inch strip of tape and roll. The tape goes around the line a few times and sticks in place. I'm wondering if this will do for sleeving when larks heading a SS ring into the line as a stopper on the leash/...

Good wetsuits for kiting?

Hi, curently have a Neil Pride 5/3 neck entry and hate the Hudini act required to get in and out. It also nicks very easily so I have had to take to wearing board shorts and a rashy over top. Have just blown out the leg and will start looking for a replacement What do people recomend as far as 4/3 t...

Have got a buster 11m but have only ever used it on snow. It is my first traction kite besides a trainer. This is a very solidly built kite with nice stability and good steady pull for its size. Upwind on snow is a no brainer so I cant comment on its water performance. It is relatively low aspect ra...

Hey Macca,

My north has a pretty beafy pump leash attachment. I use a simple 1mm marlow line (200lb line) and the last 2.5m (rider end) is bungee. that makes it easy on the fingers and takes any shock off the kite when you pull your safety powered up. Works great.
