Re: Some questions about Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka

If you are looking for style and comfort at reasonable rates....you wont find it there, sorry :) Accomodation is very basic, and E33 gets you a matress with a mosquito net. Food is ok if you are not to picky about what you eat. You can find local people that will rent you a room in their house. Agai...

Re: Windrange

Tks SupaEZ, so 28kn should be the max point where I would still be able to hold an edge? Just rechecked my board size after your comment. Its 129 x 33.

I'll be going to Sri Lanka next week and the wind is 20-24kn predicted by windfinder at the moment. Temp is about 28-32 C.

Windrange

Just a quick question :D

What would the real world top end of the 9m Rebel 2012 be? North site states 15-32kn for 75kg rider.

I'm 66kg on a 133 TT.

Tks

Re: Why Kitesurf race gear is so fast in lightair

The power comes from the foil and the fact that when we need extra power (beside sheeting in the bar=sheeting in a windsurf sail) we just dive the kite, so now in 4 knots of wind for example, (the kite on a 35 meter up) is going 15 knots at a 45 degree angle down, diving… now we have apparent wind ...

Re: Show us your office and view!

The view from my office is similar on windy days, and if you are on the road and it looks like this, then you know its going to be a great day kiting!

Re: North Rebel Wind Range Chart

I'm 66kgs on a 9m Rebel 2012, and get about 13-28kn. Never tried higher winds, but gusts might have been higher than that. Kite is always stable.

Re: Let's see if best vision should be top priority for kiti

I have very sensitive eyes, and any bright sunlight or cloud light, makes my eyes feel like the sun is piercing right through them. So I never walk outside without a pair of sunglasses. I always look for the best sunglasses I can find, and mostly wear Oakleys with different tint glasses for differen...
