Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

There's shallow spots, seaweed stuff like that. Of course, now that I foil I think every SUP should have a mounting plate to put a foil on it but you can't always use it.

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

Ittiandro, well 6 months is such a long time to wait. Even if you get instructions later, I still think it's worth it to buy the beginner instructions from Progression: http://www.progression.me/player/collections/1 I have no affiliation from them, they are just great instructional videos. They used...

Re: True C kites 14 meters

C kites are best between 7m and 13m in size. Larger C kites tend to be slow, don't boost high and don't have as good upwind characteristics. Smaller C kites are the nicest. Get a 14 RPM instead that's my suggestion.

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

EDT I don't have a SUP, but a Windsup. Maybe this can make a difference. It is an 11 ft long Bic Windsup , which I fitted with a longer fin to replace the standard Dolphin fin which was useless. I can easily bank on the rails to control it and it also has a centerboard which helps to go upwind. So ...

Re: Balance question - before I get my drill out....

Unless I'm mistaken I see two mast mounts already drilled and you put your mast in the wrong mast holes they need to be in the other set near the front. looks like there are 6 mast holes drilled so you can move the mast back where you have it or took the front holes where it should be

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

those 100cm wide raceboards are such dogs in chop, they nearly shake your legs off. Not fun! They are made to go fast if you aren't allowed to use a hydrofoil in a race not for comfort.

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

SUP kiting can't go as low as a race twintip for instance on a SUP you can't go in as light wind as you do with the flysurfer fly race twintip. The lowest wind kiting is done with hydrofoils which can go 5 knots lower than a SUP or a twintip. Even though a SUP provides a lot of flotation it doesn't ...

Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

I think you are failing to recognize the point of one-design sailing. Some one designs are awesome (the nacra) some are shit (the olympic windsurfer, and the finn). If the IKA is able to use the same designs they use for their races, we will see some awesome and fast foil + foil combination an allo...

Re: Balance question - before I get my drill out....

I would go ahead and drill the holes. In the original photo I didn't see the front straps so I didn't understand just how off center your set up is. If you are anything like me, you will love boosting on your hydrofoil, which is hard to do strapless. Anyway I understand there are a lot of foilers wh...
