Re: Fatality in France

Yeah I get you. I was just reacting to that Venn Diagram. Even though I can perfectly well launch myself I always prefer an assisted launch. Even though I agree that everyone should learn how to do an assisted launch I would never deny someone a launch by telling them go learn how to self launch. I'...

Re: Fatality in France

One of the best things about kitesurfers compared to windsurfers is that they have a sense of empathy and social community lacking for many windsurfers. A windsurfer will put on his sail go out and sometimes they won't speak a word to anyone. Fully self sufficient, and completely amoral with no care...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Fantastic work Bruno. Can't wait until we get one of these kites on the market. I remember both the Hellfish by Best back in 2004 and the Ruben Lenten Extract in 2014 both were market failures, those both used cuben fiber (dyneema fabric), and while the Hellfish died due to quality issues and the Ex...

Re: North Dice 2018 unhook issues

I didn't find the 2018 any different than the 2017. Kind weird that you have these backstall issues. You're an advanced rider so I have to assume you checked your lines already.

Re: Help! Need to get my boyfriend a Christmas gift

those typhoons are sick. Sunglasses is an excellent suggestion for a gift by the way. For me tho, I like quantity over quality, I'm always smashing or losing my sunglasses.

Re: Fatality in France

If your helper isn't paying enough attention to notice that the control bar is laying on the ground and you are walking towards him . . . yeah I dunno what to say about that.

Re: Fatality in France

I don't like raising hands in any way. Just throw the chicken loop away.

Re: HELP! Need to get my boyfriend a Christmas gift

Normally you want to keep kite gifts a bit on the less expensive side because every kiteboard and every kite is different. You have to demo a kite or board for several hours before you are sure you want to make the purchase, and it's even more particular with a kite harness those, you need to make s...

Re: Fatality in France

Remember the best signal that you don't want a launch is to remove your chicken loop and release your leash. A terrible accident.

Re: Fatality in France

Simple question: is it worth putting up that risk for a fighting, cold and no tricks session in 40 knots, where the chance of an injury or even fatality is pretty high? Yes. Megaloops. for pros, yes. not average joe everybody has a different acceptable amount of risk. The problem is when people go ...
