Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

(...) Where should the back foot be in relation to the mast? I'm talking about the XLW here, but the front insert of my back strap is aligned with the trailing edge of the mast. Which means the back foot is just behind the mast. Front foot is a whole shoulder width apart (my usual stance). In terms...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

It could also well be that your feet aren't in the sweet spot for it to come alive. Variations of +/- 2cm make a massive difference. Ride it strapless for a while and figure out the right position and stance. Once the right spots are identified, with good on-flight balance, you can go back to the st...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

XXLW will fit on your fuselage / mast. Might have to use some slightly longer screws in places due to the bigger wings being a bit thicker. I think it's intended to be used on a shorter mast, but maybe for kitefoiling, a full mast won't hurt. I've used the xxlw wings on my 75cm mast with a kite, and...

Re: Wakeskate and foil

(...) Need to paint it bright colour, maybe attach something on the nose to sit above the water line (back to the old go joe?) No such problem with the Zeeko wakeskate! All that deck foam gives plenty of float! And well... Can't beat yellow! Rails are easy to grab, and the Spitfire setup makes it q...

Re: What's the dumbest thing you have seen a newbie do?

Newbie asking someone for help to launch and tensioning the lines despite the kite being way too deep in the window.
Gets even better when the assistant is also a newbie!

Re: Convertible surf board

I have a Slash 5'4. I actually like the board better as a kite surfboard than as a foilboard. Feels really nice on a wave. My son can even surf on it. So the foil resides on another board. I also have a Double Agent 145 deck that is pretty good as a foiling platform, although it could be a bit stiff...

I truly believe in gear that you can maintain with basic supplies from a local shipshandler, and where inevitable wear can be seen and assessed on a regular basis.
Too bad some companies went the opposite path.

Try an Alkita board www.alkita.fr, and you'll never go back. I'm totally hooked!

These boards are looking real good. They even have some nose rocker too. How is the flex? Are the stiff enough?
There's still a little bit of flex, but I'd say it's stiff enough. Only 3 sessions into it and it's getting better and better each time.

Re: Wakeskate and foil

Sure, the Spitfire design is different, unconventional, different in a good way!
Another session today on flat water/9m, and it felt really good. That deck is really comfy!
