Re: Kiteboarding as a girl hunting tool

You're doing a good job Feng. Keep in mind that you're talking to a little dog wearing a pirate hat, some kid flying a 1-line kite, and someone too shy to put anything up as an avatar. Sounds like the junior crowd to me. Keep doing what you do because it's gotten you farther than they've gone. Er, ...

Re: Kiteboarding as a girl hunting tool

And I'd rather get airtime that gets me girls. And to be totaly honest I get plenty of both. Must be your humble and self depreciation that makes you so attractive  I had a ridiculously hot girl come up to me as I pumping up my kite and ask if I could teach her to paraglide. :-? Like any red b...

Re: Australia in January

Are all Australias coasts inhabit sarks, or are they just in someplaces ? are there any good locations to kite whitch are shark free ? Know that this question may sound odd, but it sounds like a real threat to me... Mate, you're in more danger crossing the road than you are from sharks. I wouldn't ...

Re: Controlling the speed

getting the kite high at the same time is also good. I hate to contradict, but keeping the kite low will help him keep his edge... Lean back and dig that rail in harder.... MUCH harder... :thumb: That only works so far for me on choppy water. Eventually I start skipping over the chop and my legs st...

Re: Kitesurfing sunglasses - any breakthroughs yet?

I've bought a pair of "Fuglies", which have been working quite well to date. Not too much fogging, but I've not used it in less than 25degrees (centigrade) yet. They also do goggles and the sunglasses actually float. http://www.fuglies.com.au/ They make a pair of "bulletproof" sunnies for the extrem...

Re: Shadowbox - Ruben should have one!

I imagine it would be impossible to understand when viewing the results, if they'd never seen Ruben kite.

"So I see he leaped 50 feet upwards, then suddenly accelerated downwind, then fell quickly, then slowed down just before he landed, then shot off downwind again as he landed" :D

Re: Weight and kite sizing....

I agree with cglazier, it's about right that the kite and rider weight are proportional. I heard somewhere a rule of thumb that 10kg of riders weight was approximately 1m of kite area. So a 70kg rider on a 10m kite is roughly the same as a 100kg rider on a 13m kite. It works mostly, until you get to...

Out of interest, who gets a vote?

(I think I missed the last round of votes, who voted the current board in place?)
