Re: Which 2011 race board do I go for?

Just ordered an UGD Race, in the end I chose it because out of the handful of race boards in Ireland the majority are now UGD. Makes it a bit fairer racing on the same gear. Might pop over to UK races to get kicked about on the start line just for the experience. I see the dates on the BKSA site, ar...

Re: Which 2011 race board do I go for?

Has anyone looked at the 2011 Underground Race? I'm looking for a competitive Race board & have been looking at the Aguera C59 because of its reputation and because of the 3 or 4 fin set up option. But if its going to take more tweaking to get it going I might shy away due to my lack of experience i...

Re: Rules Question - Water at a mark

In practice when do kiters start giving room then? In practice, at least from my experience, if I need mark room, I will ask for it. I will give mark room if requested. On kiteboards (during summer) or skis/snowboards (during winter) races, we use up so little ground space that we can get close to ...

Re: Rules Question - Water at a mark

Thanks for posting up the rule but I found what I was looking for in the definitions part of the rule book which simply says:

Zone Not used.

Wow.
In practice when do kiters start giving room then? or is that a how long is a piece of string question?

Rules Question - Water at a mark

Hi, I'm OK with most of the racing rules as I raced dingies before I got into Kiting but I have some questions about the application of sailing rules to kite course racing that I hope an experienced Kite racer can shed some light on. What do you use instead of the 2 boat length zone when determining...

Re: GPS for training

Is it permitted to use a good old fashioned magnetic compass when kite racing?

If there is no rule against it I'd like to give it a try, they are very helpful in sailing when spotting headers and lifts.
