Re: 9m Hyperlink UL loses pressure too soon

From my experience Ozone foilkites are just not stitched/assembled in a way that it holds air like Flysurfer or even other foil kites. My Chrono V1, V2 en R1 V1 deflated also really quick and where like a sponge when dropped on even ripple-free water. My Peter Lynn aero's could float for ages compar...

Re: Foil Kite folding in half when going upwind!?

This time I am with foilholio, old kite with too much and long bridles with high AR are sensitive to bridle shrinkage. As C and Z shrink the most you get a kite with increased camber that has lost its reflex profile to automatically levels the kite when flying maximum depowered. With too much camber...

Re: Kite Release Training

The chickenloop is a flawed design, 99% never unhook so why stick with a design that allows you to do that? This way there there is no incentive to practice the release ever, just unhook after your session, unclip the leash and pack up. With a hooked-only design you can make the qr so that you are a...

Re: Jumping=new love of my life!

U mesure the 10m in8knt with woo 😂😂😂of course No, by the percentage of kites you can look down on from above and the nice view. Woo only confirms that you went huge that session, as do the guys with open mouths on the beach. Boosting on the foil makes my twintip collecting dust on all days with 7bf...

Re: New lines - Dyneema Sk99

All my clients immediately feel the difference when switching to a SK99 set of lines. I use 500kg front and 300kg backlines, 1.7 and 1.1mm. Although some megaloop/stormkiters use 500kg for all lines as they feel more rigid and tangle less in 7bft+ winds. For racing I use 300kg sk99 and 170kg sk90. I...

Wind was marginal up there, like 6-8kn but super stable.

Re: Chrono V1 tip tucking

I say start with 4cm and see if that solves anything, no problem when flying with the brakes too loose. At some point you will gat weird stall behaviour because it stalls at C with a loss of low-end power, just shorten the brakes a bit then. It was night and day on my chrono v1's with a looser brake...

Re: The Full Circle

Don't know what version it was, but the one I tested had flat wings and a mast with an egg shaped cross section, no sharp trailing edges anywhere. Had a ton of drag and the trim varied massivly on different speeds. Completely different to the zeeko makaira I had back then.

Re: The Full Circle

Nowadays we are back to the starting point for many freeriders and waveriders, as now the wings are back to the Carafino shape, same area and low AR - the circle is complete now 11 years later :naughty: One big difference: drag! The first Carafino had flat plates as "wings" with no airfoil profile ...

Re: Impressive: Mythical Mirrorland

Jannis was on an 18m and was the first one out, when we waited for enough wind to race, proving that there was sufficient wind higher up. Eveyone on the beach was surprised by the view of 6 guys rinding when there were 0kn on the beach as the wind started at least 5m from the ground due to the cold ...
