Lake Champlain is a great place to sail, but has verylimited launches. We have good wind but not many good places to learn. Rachael Miller at Stormboarding is the only school. She does a nice job. Very enthusiastic.

Kitestorm Event Site getting whitestuff

I just went over and checked out the Kitestorm event site on lake Champlain. Miles of untracked powder on a good firm base. Looked like the best conditions this year. One kiter out, and wind around 20. I have a bad wing and was salivating at the missed riding. Have a great time next weekend. I have ...

Thanks for getting back to me James. I am pleased to hear about the stability. I was thinking about plunking in a mooring, also on lake Champlain... I Saw you out yesterday. Like the look of the red and orange. Beautiful in the sky. Saw you were still on the GII 22 meter. How did it compare? Blowing...

I was on a snowboard on snow over hard ice. I think that it would be pretty hard to find conditions where pads aare not helpful. Of course we usually don't have more than a few inches of snow. The wind usually strips it away. Like the jacket with pads. How much. Crashpads.com has some cool gear. I h...

I have a helmet that took a 2 inch gash from my board. Didn't hurt me at all. Best helmet save was when I hit a tree upside down, backwards, and 7 feet up, at high speed. Hit hard enough to mess up the bark, but My head was one of the places that did not get injured. I am wearing a protec water spor...

Snowkite injuries

Greetings, Sitting here with one of those very economical hospital bracelets on and thought that I would compare notes with folks. I am a big fan of learning about how to hurt yourself from other peoples mistakes, and then not doing it. Along those lines, here's my latest. Snow kiteboarding on Lake ...

Go Rachael,
This was a great event last year. What surprised me the most was how many people turned out. I am used to being out with 2 or 3 other kiters, but there must have been 50 kites flying at times.

The ice is about a foot thick now. Just need the dump!!!

I really like both skis, snowboards, and a pair of 55 cm blades I made from $20 worth of goodies from Home Depot. I am also willing to admit that I love tubes and foils. I feel much better getting that out. It may be just me, but I trash snowboards boardsnowkiting. Major p-tex delams from edging on ...
