Re: Low rider or high flyer?

I love that "I'm the king of the world!" feeling of being as high as I dare, but I do try to ride low as I can without hitting the chop. I'm best off at a happy medium, where I have little danger of overfoiling and not too close to falling off a plane. But I am a beginner, and still haven't used a f...

Re: Hydrofoil Videos

Robert Heinlein had a saying "The amazing thing about the waltzing bear isn't how well it waltzes, but that it waltzes at all."

This is my home-made hydrofoil.

Re: Revl Arc cam: Anybody preorder one?

As I have been saying about the Soloshot 3, they should have come out with a very basic model, just a camera with the gimbal, instead of loading it with a bunch of extra features. They would probably have satisfied customers by now. They may have been too ambitious with the extra features.

Re: How to steal Money from dummies 101

Soloshot is a bit different...they already had two models on the market, and not a kickstarter with their 3rd model. Just 50% discount if preordered. But things look good, should be shipped soon. I am sure to make a perfect product it takes time and always new problems come up. Looking forward to i...

Re: Has anyone gone totally hydrofoil?

It must be pretty awesome to be in the middle of such chaos and still have a smooth ride from a hydrofoil. That was a very bumpy day for me.

Re: Has anyone gone totally hydrofoil?

And some of the sloppy big waves I get on lake Erie may not be rideable with even the tallest mast. But then I am a beginner. Anyone have experience using a hydrofoil in wave conditions like this?: As Peter says, these are great conditions for hydrofoiling - huge fun. On a small kite (3.5m). Those ...

Re: Home made hydrofoil

Here's the foil itself. I am working on a new mast right now. Cutting a mold in the CNC machine for a reinforcement at the base of the mast, one that will allow me to add some extra metal at the bast where its flat.

Re: Has anyone gone totally hydrofoil?

I can't imagine giving up my twintips. Some spots have shallow water, and at other times there are weeds and wood debris. I can't imagine taking a hydrofoil into the Real Slick or a Planet of the Apes downwinder in Hatteras except with a very short trainer mast, and then what's the point? And some o...
