... So, I'm wondering if its possible to take say 1/2m wedges out of the trailing edge between the strut ends, reducing the overall size by 2m. Then re seem the trailing edge for strength. I guess my biggest fear is that the strut ends will loose vital support and fall out of shape and just flutter...

there is no universal kite, foils are better (safer) for solo backcountry riding, inflantables on water

For me (160lb) Edge 13 (2011) is basic kite from 12 to 20 knots.
The range of depower is amazing.
Also have C4 9 & Zephyr 17.
Now I replace the two smaller to 2012 Edges 13 & 9.
