Re: Ozone Alpha V1 - First Session

12 alpha vs. 12 ultra?, can you spill the beans plz :naughty: You can find a bit more here http://www.blastkiteboarding.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1513&start=15 I had a quick fly of the Alpha. It seemed to be a heavier build than the Ultra, so I guess it rather depends what you want it for. Fo...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

2) Smaller diameter = smaller surface area so less Dacron (linear relationship) you forget the factor pi = 3,141 12 cm have a circumference of 12 X 3,141 = 37,692 cm 8 cm have a circumference of 8 X 3,141 = 25,128 cm No linear relationship By the way the problem up till now was NOT the material but...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

It cannot be so simple Rigidity is thickness cubed ,skin modul linear and then long long nothing and them core properties. Pressure is infact core Just had a look at one of the links nixmatters posted: Air-Inflated Fabric Structures, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, Rhode Island, 20...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

For what it’s worth, by my calculations, the ‘rigidity’ will be a function of: Pressure * radius (or diameter) cubed.
Thus an 8cm tube will require 3.375 * the pressure of a 12cm tube. (12cubed/8cubed).

Re: Snap Shackle problem

To answer your question : Back in the day when we (Briefly !!) used those, I used to braze/solder the split ring to be a ‘solid’ ring that still swivels in the pin. As others have said..this type of shackle should NOT be used as a safety release. Have you actually tried to release under even moderat...

Re: Camrig Gen4 for GoPro Hero-6

I’m also a big fan of the ugo mount. Started off with a beastmount but that broke on the 1st outing  Only issue I had with ugo is sometimes the inserts are hard to remove, particularly with cold fingers (probably because a bit of sand has got in). I’ve resolved this by drilling the ends and att...
