Same principle as the skim, you just have to push harder.

Re: What to do when shit goes South on the wave

as Peter said, keep the lines tight. This may mean steering the kite back the other way/up to 12.

You'd be surprised at how much visualizing what you want the kite to do while you are under water will help the kite stay in the air.

Re: wetsuit for scandinavian winter

I wore my NPX 6/5/4 "Wind skin" in January and February this past winter here in Ontario. Lake Erie was 3C and air temp was around 8C both times. I was toasty warm. February session was blowing 30knots. I am thinking about a ocean rodeo surf dry, but it will have to wait till next year since I just ...

Re: c kite sits further back in the window........

You won't really understand until you go fly one.

If you have almost any other kite, if you edge hard directly up wind. The kite will fly very quickly to the edge of the window and you will lose power and stop. C-kites will be much slower to fly forward to the edge.

Re: Sector V3 54 Centre Fin

Flatten out the board and just use the fins to go up wind. You have to ride the fin like you would on a windsurfer.

Re: What is the perfect wind?

9m wind. So anywhere from 20-25knots. Steady is always nice, but anything where the gusts are no more than 4knots above the average is great.

Re: Percentages of the various ways you kiteboard

60% flat through chop (TT when powered, surfy when not)
30% washing machine waves (surfy strapless, mako if it is really bad)
10% clean lake breaks. (surfy strapless)

All great lakes kiting. Vacation spots are too small a percentage to count in this.

Re: More important than boardshorts!

speedo under the wetsuit eliminates chaffing. It also makes it easier to change out of the wetsuit in public.

Re: Pro Kite Surf Why I do not compete on KSP Tour by Ben Wi

I hope KSP keeps portraying a crappy image of kitesurfing. The less people that join this sport, the better. Once people realize how killer this is, we will be overrun, our spots will be too crowded, and we will all look back on the early 2000's as the golden age. Enjoy it while it lasts. Here are ...
