Wave Spot for June/July

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for places to visit from late june to early july. I have looked around at some old posts but cant really find anything that fits my specifications. Its an odd list but I would like a place that has good flatwater kiting (with wind suitable for a ...

Re: Tar removal and oil based products on kites

Thanks for the help guys.
I am not so much concerned with the stains as I am with getting the majority of the tar off, and preventing the tar from damaging the kite (if it can even do that)

Tar removal and oil based products on kites

Hey all, I recently noticed I have some thick patches of tar on my kite, both on the leading edge and the canopy. I was thinking about using baby oil to remove the tar but then searching around the forum I saw mention of oil based products being detrimental to the kite material. Would using butter f...

Re: Board choice help

Thanks for the help everyone, I will keep a look out for those boards (unfortunately I have not found any in my price range yet).
Out of curiosity how would a Liquid Force influence compare? Because I was able to find a complete 132cm setup for about $150.

Board choice help

Hi all, I am looking into getting a new kiteboard, and I was wondering of what characteristics I should look for in a new twintip. I weight about 145lbs (about 67 kilos), I usually ride choppy ocean water, usually I am on a 9m, and I am just starting to jump (can go upwind easily etc). But I am unsu...

Re: 2011 Cabrinha Race Board vs Airush Sector

At your weight with the 13m Edge you should have plenty of power to ride a fish. It depends what you want to do. The raceboard is a blast in lightwind, but you can't ride waves with it at all. Not that waves stop you from riding it, you just can't surf the waves. If you want to surf waves in light ...

Hi, I am looking at going for my first directional board and a bit of help would be much appreciated. i am looking race boards because they seem to have good light wind performance while still being fun/challenging, I am a 66 kg rider trying to go out in around 10-11 knts (on the low end) with a 13m...

Re: Choosing my first directional

I have the same question as you so thought I would just post here instead of a new thread, Would a 2011 Cabrinha race board (mainly because they are the cheapest race board I can find at 800 new) be good for a 65 kilo rider on a 13m edge looking to go out into 10-12 knots? It would be in flatish oce...

Liquid Force bar compatibility

Hi, I was looking at getting the 16M LF NRG lite breeze for light wind days in SB (about 11-12 ish mph but with some lulls down to 8-9) and I was mainly looking at this kite because the price looks good. But I do not want to buy another bar, currently I have the 2010 epic extend bar and the 2011 bar...

Re: Beginner intermediate spots Bay Area/ Santa Cruz

Thanks for all the help guys, Alameda and 3rd avenue look like good spots. Could anyone recommend a good wind sensor for Alameda? And I think I will stay away from Waddell for a while, I surf there every now and then and it does not seem like the place to learn how to relaunch. Could anyone recommen...
