Re: Kiteboarding at Rhodes

Hi there! I have lived and kitesurfed in Rhodes for 12 years - now it is sunny England for me, tomorrow Hustanton for the first time with a Cabrinha 2006 I borrowed from a friend, haha, never mind... Here is some info you need: West coast spots / schools: Kremasti has side or side-on wind, the schoo...

Re: New to Hunstanton, advice needed

yeah - you'll defo get out more than that... :thumb: a lot of those meters are only really accurate for particular wind directions (sheltered from the other way) keep an eye out for seabreezes in the summer - if there's even a hint of E and it's hot all day - there's usually a seabreeze blowing at ...

Re: New to Hunstanton, advice needed

Thank you very much John, this is very helpful!! :thumb: How would you rate the chances of having a decent wind day during the week? I guess it depends on the season but the statistics I got from Windfinder were so dissapointing... I imagine (and hope!) that this overall 7% chance of >4B wind (means...

I did notice that the statistics come from Heacham, but I don't know what difference it makes, hence the question...

New to Hunstanton, advice needed

Dreadful statistics.JPG Just got a job at King's Lynn for a year, a welcome break in my career in Greece, as it will involve learning new stuff, improving the CV etc. The downside is that I will have to forget about the luxury of having Kremasti and Prasonisi on my doorstep for a whole year... :rol...

Re: how to maintain speed when popping to toeside?

I forgot to add ... I don't yet do the hop and turn that you're talking about to get to toeside. I tried it once, caught my downwind edge, big wipeout, and haven't tried it since. :-? I either do a heelside to toeside carving turn for a transition, OR the little "sliding/wishbone" turn from the Pro...

Re: unwanted rotation in jump,

+1 for edging upwind at take off. Mind you, it is not like when popping, it is a more sudden instantaneous upwind turn right at the moment of sending the kite.
If you don't edge enough on take off, it is much more likely to rotate forward.
