Re: Skis for all-round riding

Hey guys this is pretty epic info. Really appreciate it. I am not sure if I will actually end up buying all of it this year. Maybe just the boots and then rent skis to test out a few different configurations.
The Icelantic ones also looks killer.

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Pretty big gap here in my knowledge base about onshore wave kite characteristics. I do lake on-shore wave (no more than 3ftwave, most of the time in less than 1ft of water), and on/side/side-on ocean wave kiting. I have very little off side-off ocean wave experience. And I use the same kite for all...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

I think we're getting too pedantic about this. One of my spots that I friggin love I ride in mostly onshore conditions....yeah sure sometimes the wind is slightly at an angle and sometimes you find a set that rolls at an angle, but no one can tell me that when you make a drop on an onshore wave and ...

Re: Jesse Richman in Nazare

Hard to get a grip on how difficult it might be to kite large waves. I know for regular surfers, big wave surfing is incredibly difficult, you have a mountain roaring behind you and every sense has to be at maximum alertness, as you instantly scout out your line while being thrown down the wave goi...

Re: Jesse Richman in Nazare

Do you still believe this is a low skill activity to ride these waves Toby. Or have you realized yet that there are skill involved than you don't even comprehend? No one doubt Jessie's skills and absolutely awesome commitment. I think what Toby has been trying to say (and I agree) is that it doesn'...

Re: Cape Town Visitors - Avoid killing each other

What about the rider riding/surfing a wave with a kite has right of way against the one riding away from the shore. The last time I was there a local made it pretty clear to me that that is how it is done around capetown at least among surfboard riders? I liked it. Yeah spots that have a mixed bag ...

This is standard anywhere I go. The sheep mo backwards and forwards usually within 50 meters of their launch spot. Its dumb arse and stupid and it wont change.
I think it is awesome, because it just opens up the rest of the spots for others (me).

Re: Skis for all-round riding

I have only snow kited a few times but I am an avid skier. If you are on soft snow chatter will not be an issue unless you buy something with an extreme rocker and no metal. I personally hate skies with no metal, they just have no feel IMO. 95/100 MM range? Nordica Enforcer is the hottest ski on th...
