Re: Shoulder Replacement

I'm 60 years old and destined for a shoulder replacement in one month. I love to kite and hope to continue. Pretty freaked out. Anyone out there had a full shoulder replacement and continued to kite? Or does anyone know of anyone who came back to kiting after a shoulder replacement? Thanks. I can't...

Re: Eye protection -> tips on cheap and good-ish sunglasses for kiting

Ok the #m glasses and straps came in today. I think this is going to be it from me in terms of exploring other options. I do not mind paying for quality, but most glasses cost $150-$250 unless its seaspecs and for they all break fairly fast. 3M with straps came in at at $20 for 4 glasses and 6 strap...

Re: Liquid Force compatible surf foil wing

Yes, some are using the old wing here for waveriding and freestyle. As I recall in memory it is around 820-840 cm2 in surface area (bigger than even my huge marginal wind wing also used as a windfoil wing), quite "lifty" and turns okay, so works for waves :D 8) PF I dunno that will work for surfing...

Re: Channels on a surfboards

This is worth a watch where they've done flow modelling on different Firewire designs, though not specifically commenting on the effect of the channels, you can see what they are doing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrYt5t3qalI That video is a bit annoying and a bit interesting. Maybe I just need...

+1 for cheap safety glasses. I add a neoprene elastic strap for 50 cents to stop em falling odd.
That exactly what I did.

Sun, I'll keep you up to date. They should land at my place tomorrow.

Re: Channels on a surfboards

Channels work!! Now if you have that deep channels across the length of the board I am not sure I understand the benefit intuitively. It would seem the board would have some issues as water doesn't hit on a straight angle, but as I have not ridden the board I am also not saying it will not work. I w...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Nice, but naish put that on the kite for a reason. you would think they would explain it. Or can the 5 line bar be used ? haha yeah right? I dunno. I didn't look on my boxer for any instructions. I mean I guess a 5 line bar could be used, but the Naish 5 line bar has traditionally been very differen...

Re: Buoy for race training

A variation of these were what we were using: http://www.etpracemarks.com/standard-ra ... ace-marks/

Edit: They are a bit of a PITA to deploy without a boat.
