Make a surf video and win a Drone or GoPro, 11 days left.

Slightly over three years ago I asked for design input on a wind meter for kitesurfers: first forum post . Thanks for the input :) Three years later we are a small team in Copenhagen working on creating / designing wind meters largely helped by the successful kick-starter campaign we had last year: ...

Re: strapless: hydrofoil vs. raceboard

I'm also riding a North LTD 2010. While I have been riding twintips and surfboard without straps I would never really consider rinding the raceboard strapless. I would imagine it would be very difficult to ride it flat/efficient using the fins instead of the edge of the board. Downwind the straps is...

Re: Smartphone Wind Meter / Anemometer

Now this is a cool idea, only thing that would make it better is if it did not need to be faced into the wind. Then you could get a cable, mount it on a pole and lock your phone in the car and allow it to broadcast the current wind to all your friends stuck in the office trying to decide where to g...

Re: Smartphone Wind Meter / Anemometer

Andreas, That looks like a great project. I just backed it, looking forward to trying one out! Good luck. Any idea if a Motorola Droid Razr will work? Awesome! . I can only give a similar answer to what I posted regarding the Google Nexus 4. I hope and expect that it will work. But until further in...

Re: Smartphone Wind Meter / Anemometer

Neat idea using the magnets and phone's compass sensor; seeing it plugged into the headphone jack, I was expecting it to use the mic channel like the Square card reader. LG/Google Nexus 4 support? It has a compass in it, so it should work right? I can do some testing for you if you like. ;) I would...

Re: Smartphone Wind Meter / Anemometer

Hi abo How close must the phone be to the Anemometer? If I was to use something like this I would have it mounted on a pole with my phone locked in my car so that it could continue to broadcast live wind while I was out riding, this would provide my friends in the city with live information in orde...

Re: Smartphone Wind Meter / Anemometer

@DrLightWind Thanks. In the video the iPhone is showed most, but it does also work with some android phones i.e. Samsung Galaxy SIII and SII. We haven't tested more android phones at the moment, but we believe that most high end android phones will work. They other project is totally cool. I almost ...

Smartphone Wind Meter / Anemometer
