Re: Kitesurfing hip replacement survivors

I have an arthritic left hip that I should have replaced. 64 yrs old enough to know better, but too young to say no. 15yrs kitesurfing, all twintip, like boosting, a few rotation and transition tricks, and kite powered Great Lakes wave riding. Questions. Anyone with hip replacement still kitesurfin...

Re: going up kite size or front wing size for light wind

This was the first year I used a bigger wing for LW Kite Foiling. I regularly use the Armstrong HS1050/232 wing set. I started using the HS1550 Wing in around 8-10 knots. I was super impressed. Nice lift, very stable and fast(for a big wing). I was using 3m less kite than other foilers . I would def...

Re: Armstrong Hs1050 speed range

Don’t forget the stabilizer wing. If you want to go faster make sure you have the smaller tail wing Thats a very good point. The HS232 Stabilizer is noticeably faster and makes for tighter turns. Another thing you can do related to the Stabilizer is use the +1 Shim. It will reduce the lift and incr...

Re: Armstrong Hs1050 speed range

The Armstrong HS1050 is the wing I use the most. I have had it over 40 kph when pushing it. The HS1550 surprised me with how fast(35 kph) I could get it going in LW. Generally, the Armstrong wings are not speed demons. The exception would be the HS625. Like you said, technique, experience and equipm...

Re: Armstrong Foil is junk

from what ive seen and experienced it is nearly inpossible to have interchangeable precision machined (or molded) all carbon parts fit perfect. there will be or will soon enough be some wiggle and can be taken care of with a small amount of epoxy slurry. The approach on "warning people" is a bit ta...

Re: Armstrong CF 800

Anyone riding the Armstrong CF 800 ? Does it float on its side with a small board ? I know the 1200 does . I have ridden the CF800 quite a bit. It does not float on its side. I'm riding a Moses T35(108cm). The CF800 is excellent for carving with higher top end than the CF1200. Another Wing to consi...

Re: High end foil and board rec for kite/wake crossover

bob , have you ridden the hs1050 back to back with the cf1200? if so, which in your opinion is more stable for trying foot switches,,,what does one give up on the other? i recently tried the cf1200 coming from a more beginner set up (double agent) and i just couldn't get it under control. lots of li...

Re: beginner foil setup

The Moses 633/483 wing set would be an excellent choice from beginner to pro. Like all "larger wings" it has the ability to go slow but it also can really move pretty fast for a free ride wing. Its stable and maneuverable. The industry has been moving to shorter masts over the last couple years. A l...

Re: Moses T35 board

Anyone tried one yet ? Yes, I have had a half dozen sessions on the Moses T35. A vey nice upgrade from the T22. It has the multiple strap options(I ride strapless) and the track is better than the through hull mounting of the T22. With more volume and scoop than the T22 , more touch downs can be sa...
