Re: Best bankrupt?

I'll cherish my memory of landing "Stevos's hellfish" and it exploding in my hands. Those were the days !

Re: Gear that has exceeded your expectations!

Hate to say it, but you're just in a major funk, new gear won't make any difference. Do what I did ,take some pills, its cheaper.

Re: Which is your preferred trim system?

Slingshot Guardian: Very few moving parts with cleat and thick bomb proof lines. Kept simple and easy to inspect. Except for the fact that there are common situations that can completely jam the safety. Can't believe SS is still selling it. Best bar ever made! Never jammed on me,been using since 20...

Re: How to fall correctly?

After 18 years the only thing I do as I crash is say "oh no" or "#@% * !@!There's zero time to react at the pace I kite at. So far so good. Oh I do think I close my eyes, never remember seeing anything afterwards.

For me it was 15 mph,13 knots? I went out on my 10 when everyone on twintips were on 12's and 15's.I'm 210 lbs and it worked well.I have a floaty converted ss space pickle so that helped. I've heard many suggest to use the same size kite that you would use if twin tipping. I found that I was better ...

Re: Board design -- also a boring question

I need more power than normal for my Mako but it digs in like nothing else. There's just no information out there about WHY the outline needs to be curved, just lots of explanations ("outline or sidecut is the shape of the edges") or discussions about the different types of outline, and a few contr...

Re: Do all kites invert equally?

Guess what I call inverted is different than what we're talking about. Rolling the kite does indeed twist both pairs of lines - I call that rolling [tumbling] a kite. If you have the kite spin 360 while lying leading edge down on the water, that can twist one pair of lines, if a rear line goes over...

Re: How do you transport (car) your HF?

I've got a large p/u. It fits with room to spare but I still take it apart. Seems to get beat up more all together. Plus its amazing the amount of corrosion that takes place on the bolts and t nuts. SS, brass and aluminum plus salt water causes mayhem.
