you need a bigger board. once you learn what it takes the one you have will work, but it's sooo much easier to learn on a bigger board then move smaller to master the technique.
i say switch it up. i ditched my twintip after a few sessions and was much happier learning on one of my old surfboards. ymmv, but i think there's something to be said about riding what you know while figuring out kite control.
