Re: High-wind board?

I do agree kiteboard size is very important. I found with my "heavyweight" size I could put a lot of stress on all the parts and was breaking a lot of things before I finally got dialed in. So putting a smaller board added too much pressure on my CL, bar and lines, bridles, kites. Something lighter ...

Re: High-wind board?

My highwind board is a 2003 Best LTD. It's 144 x 44cm but has a ton of rocker to it. I find the more rocker the board has the more power I need. Might be good to look at a board with more rocker in it. Not sure which ones though. Still trying to figure out what high wind board would be good for me a...

Re: Info on Sweet Potato

14Toeside,

If you pick up the potato let us heavyweights know what you think on the heavyweight group forum. I was looking at one as well.

The doughnuts only lasted 10 seconds with this group.

We'll have more in the heavyweight forum group. Stop by and say hi.

Re: New Heavyweight group forum. Introductions...

I'll try my hand on my first review of my OR Razors as soon as I can. Keep an eye out for a new topic on here for them. I've been kiting since 2009. I've exploded QRs and spinners, snapped lines, and stressed kites until the give up and stop flying. I will say the 2012 OR Razors are the best kites I...

Heavyweight general observations - kite size selection?

So I show up to my local spot. Winds blowing. Like most people I'm wondering what everyone is out on. And as I'm assessing the situation. most are asking "what are you out on?" I find myself always asking right after "mind if I ask what you weigh in at? " Most guys are out on 7s, 8s, and 9s. I'm thi...

Re: New Heavyweight group forum on here

Thanks kite2heaven. PJ Sofine. Past members of the heavyweight class still get to weigh in. I know I owe my successful progression and gear selections to gleaning knowledge and experience from fellow heavyweights I chatted with from here who have flown the gear, rode the boards and advised according...

New Heavyweight group forum on here

Toby was kind enough to add a "Heavyweight" section to the group forums. Hoping to generate gear discussion and equipment upgrades with fellow people over 210lbs (95kg). Hopefully we can make it easier to keep all the great info that has been discussed/will be discussed in one area. Here is the link...

New Heavyweight group forum. Introductions...

A new place for us big guys to discuss gear options and necessary equipment upgrades. I've found that people less than 210lbs (95kg) can't usually offer usable advice on gear because generally the weight differences make gear choices vastly different. I'm 6'5" 260lbs. I would consider my current sty...

Re: A Harness that Doesn't push up

I remember those days as a beginner. Have a look at the Ocean Rodeo Session 2. It comes with detachable leg straps that are very adjustable and comfortable. You can adjust the lengths to wear the waist harness down low (almost like a seat harness) or up high as a waist harness. Then as you get bette...
