Re: One kite size for beginner Belmont Shore /CA

14m is a pretty big kite for Belmont, but at 190lbs would work. Most people ride 10's and 12's. If you drop the weight you should be good with a 12m. That's what I rode there and I was 180lbs. Best to head down there on a weekend and see what people are flying. I don't think the conditions have chan...

Re: Turbine 19m

What year is your 19m?

How do you find the downwind pull on the 19m? I have a 17m and find when the wind picks up the downwind pull is a struggle. I really have to fight the kite. Just curious if they are making the newer models higher aspect

Re: 2019 Slingshot Turbine

Green, which do you prefer, the Flight or Turbine? - Flite- if they made a 21m Flite Id have bought that instead of the 19m Turbine. 2014 17m Turbine vs 2015 17m Flite: Turbine has more straight line power, Its bigger. For real heavy riders, smaller boards, or tandem use, its an obvious choice in m...

Re: 2019 Slingshot Turbine

Surprised the Rally 14m would fly in less, that's a very heavy kite. Slingshots construction is actually very light. The kites are just sized bigger than most, and this gives them a bad rap when weights are compared without comparing the actual size. The 17m Turbine I had was hugely bigger than 17m...

2019 Slingshot Turbine

Looks like Slingshot has released their 2019 Turbine kites. I have an old 2015 that I was thinking of replacing. Does anyone know if there have been any changes to these kites in the last couple years? Seems like besides the standard new colors not much has changed in the 15m and 17m sizes. Just won...

Grégoire - Well done. Really nice site. I like all the data in one spot and being able to compare spots. I even like the fonts.

Re: 12m or 14m Slingshot Rally for 200 lbs riders ??

It depends on local conditions, board, and if the wind tends to the lower or higher end of your range. If it's mostly 18-21mph go with the 12m. If it's mostly 14-18mph go with the 14m. If it's somewhat even I'd go with the 14m. These kites have a huge range and given your weight you should have no p...

2018 Slingshot Turbine

New Turbines are out. Does anyone know if Slingshot made any changes for 2018? They don't mention anything on their web site so it looks like the same old kite. I love the Turbine, but it's sorely in need of a refresh. I don't think they have made any improvements to the larger size for several year...

Re: Toxic Water Nearly Killed My Kite Buddy

Contact your local Surfrider Foundation chapter. See if they are willing to work with you and make it one of their campaigns. They have started monitoring the water around the treatment plant as part of their Blue Water Task Force http://www.surfrider.org/blue-water-task-force/beach/627 . Seems like...
