Re: Sunset Beach, NC?

Kite forum "spots" has nothing for this area and Google has almost nothing as well. Myrtle Beach has designated kite areas so curious how Sunset Beach is.

The beach / inlet should be quiet so I'll pack gear and ride away from crowds. Again, any info is welcome

Sunset Beach, NC?

Anyone have any info on kiteboarding Sunset Beach, NC? Looks to be about 15mi north of North Myrtle Beach and about 50mi south of Wilmington, NC. We'll be heading up there late May for a week family reunion and staying beachfront. Planning on bringing my kites (15/12/9) and want to know if there are...

Charleston Isle of Palms Questions?

We're heading for a family vacation Sept 9-16 and staying beachfront on the north side of Isle of Palms (48th). In issues to kite directly at that beach? I know we are supposed to stay clear of beach goers, but any restrictions? It's much easier to kite out of the rental house with the kids and wife...

Re: We just lost over half of our kite boarding area thanks

Do-it. I have to assume you think Greenmachine is Tom L. with the "wanda" refrence you made. Am I right? I have known Tom for probably 15 years and never known him to be a kiter. I would be very surprised if it is him, but I was wrong once so I guess it could happen again. Sorry, I'm not Tom. Just ...

Re: We just lost over half of our kite boarding area thanks

Kitester, So will there be signs posted by the pavilion in the pond that say NO KITING or will it just be enforced by the park staff? I'm not up there as often as I used to be, but just trying to find out what to expect when I go this fall. What about launching at the point and riding into the pond ...

Re: We just lost over half of our kite boarding area thanks

This is a huge loss for Jax area kiting! Kitester has protected that spot for YEARS and this is a huge bummer. Kitester has given many locals (myself included) lessons and tried to instill a "protect our launch" mentality. Why is this place so awesome for kiting? VARIETY. The yellow circle is "the p...

Re: Share your Cabrinha SB 2014 Experience

Maybe this has already been asked on this KiteForum, but I'm wondering if anyone has ridden both the 2012 Switchblade and the 2014 version? Can you say whether you like the 2012 or 2014 better? I have the 2012 Switchblade in the 10m size, but looking to maybe replace an older Crossbow that fits my ...

Re: Kite repair

Aquaseal Repair Adhesive & Sealant.

Available in most scuba stores or major sports stores. Typically used for wetsuit repair. I used it this past fall on a 2009 Waroo valve/bladder delamination. Looks better than the factory sealant.

Re: Kite Size to purchase

2010 9m Naish Cult. I have this kite and get out on it a dozen or so times per year in NE FL. Fast turning, stable but lacks a bit in the low end for a 9m (only gripe). I'm 165lbs and would say a 12m would be the better route as a first kite for FL...especially now in the spring. Florida just does n...

Re: Self Landing 2012 Cabrinha SB?

I have 12m Switchblade 2012 and self land it regularly. I land it on the edge of the window, then let go of bar, walk up middle lines, then at Y split I grab the top line and pull down from high up down to ground and it drops right down on leading edge facing into wind. Done. No need to quick relea...
