Re: Lecca-Lecca minima

Thanks everyone for you interest! :) I'm sure in the next month some independent reviews will start showing up. I'm just a guy with a dream and patience, lots of patience! Sergio it would be an honor to have you try the kite and review it, I'll PM you. TomW, I don't even attempt to answer those ques...

Foilholio, I've decided to go to market because yes I'm in love with my kite and yes I have friends who want them now. Love is blind though so only time and indipendant reviews will tell if I made the...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

First on the water session today for my prototype kite, it went very well! Super powered and gusty, no collapsing, VMG up 2 degrees better and down 4 degrees better than last generation so far. Reached 28.5 knots without pushing things too much, and still haven't done any bridle changes yet. (same f...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

Thanks Sergio! I would love to have you try my kites! If you come through Tuscany let me know :) The collapsing cells is an interesting idea. I think for the efficiencies we are running with hydrofoils the weight of the zipper will be an important consideration, but keeping the strap tension inside ...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

First flight today! I'm super happy with how it went considering nothing has been adjusted yet! I left the whole thing unedited and timecode in case anyone wants to comment. I don't know how you snowkiters do it, I was freezing my ##$@@&!~@ off!!!! -stef

Re: DIY Foil Kites

Hi Downunder, I use XFLR5, Solidworks (for my 3d built and flat panel export, alignment holes, bridles ecc), and Adobe Illustrator for modifying and editing all my patterns for laser cutting and pen marking. (and all other graphics like the line plan you see in the previous pic. My process is labori...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

It will be in the air soon! Kitexpert, good points as always and this time we are on the same wavelength. I tested my kites without tip bridles towards the end of last season. And I raised my vents a few centimeters as I was losing a bit of pressure when sheeting out going upwind. -stef http://www.s...
