Saying local people from Tahiti are unfriendly is not true ... they are much more friendly than many place in the world . You may not be able to buy their friendliness that's true ..

Iaorana I have neither been to Tonga ... but about Tahiti: the main spot in Tahiti is on the east coast in Mahina and there is no hotel around .. you can try to stay in Teahupoo area wich is a more peaceful place and less crowded there are a few kite spots around but you will need the south east win...
