Re: How to self launch a kite

One of the things I like about the tethered or anchored launch is that if you are even close to doing it right the kite can ONLY be in the right place relative to the wind direction. It just sits there waiting like a good dog. If it falls forward there is not enough wind to ride. If it bounces aroun...

Re: LACKING KNOWLEDGE: Studying kitesurfing

Missed a big one Lessons
for the rider it is the first and most important step
for the companies if they can get a beginner on their gear at a school they can keep them buying their gear for a time.

Re: Who ride with sunglasses, and where?

And one of those also wears a full face mask from a cancer scare so is probably more concerned/conscious about the sun. So basically, no o...

+1 My preferred method also. Seems overall the safest if you have the room & relatively steady winds.

Re: Nick Jacobsen leaves Cabrinha team

So....is it like this... 1. North becomes Duotone with all their old designs 2. Cabrinha becomes Neil Pryde except kites 3. Cabrinha kites (and what else?) becomes North Kiteboarding Yea, #1 & #3 pretty much right, I think. North people & designs become Duotone Cabrinha people & designs (& the new ...

Re: Felt like I Nearly Drowned

Something else to consider is before all the crazy, when you noticed the kite was backstalling a lot, if you pull some depower it can help the kite fly better. Of course what you really want to do is lengthen the back lines on the beach but if you forget or miss that part you can shorten the front l...

Re: Pain at the Elbow - Kiter's Elbow: Treatment & Prevention

Don’t undercomplicate it, either. It might be from overuse. It might be from misuse and need a slight fix to function properly again. If you have time to waste try just resting it and guessing what might help by yourself. If you want to get back to being active quickly find someone who knows what th...

Re: Lightwind strategy - advice needed

Or maybe borrow or buy a cheap directional surfboard and ride that until it warms up. Going from a tt to foil can be done, of course, but from a surfboard is usually easier. You can learn the footwork and the new stance(less back foot pressure) and jibes without the foil hassle. For most people I ha...
