Re: Bad instructors - how to give advice on them

Most beaches have what, maybe 2 schools max in there area? If you are serious about this, go talk to them. Buy them breakfast while they are hanging around before lessons or a beer afterwards and find out who are the better instructors. It’s not hard to figure out and send beginners to them. If you ...

Re: Self-teaching

I’m not sure anyone on here said you can’t learn on your own. Lots of us here(maybe most of us) did and because of that we are saying It is so much faster and somewhat safer to get a couple of lessons first. You don’t need 6 days at $1000 but a couple of 3 hour sessions will make life so much better...

Re: Self-teaching

Exactly
Find an empty spot where there are no other people to hurt or a launch to put in danger and
Go do whatever you think is fine. Take it very slow and use small kites and if you get lucky you will have stories to tell. If you get unlucky, we will😳

Re: How To Self-Land a Kite in High Winds

Would anyone who has ridden in a gale agree that there are just wind conditions where a self-landing is impossible? I mean, it's nice to be totally self-sufficient, but at 30 knots I wouldn't want to pull my flag out unless I was either ready to lose the kite or go for an uncontrolled sleigh ride d...

Sending them out to try I understand. Sending one to Billy I understand.
Why would you go out of your way to feed a troll? That I don’t understand, it just encourages him.

Is feeding a troll considered a public service or just a waste of food for thought?

Re: Jumping with a smaller kite 7m Bandit 2016

Yea, don’t want to oversteer but small kites have no “torque”. You have to keep then moving once in the air and loop the landings to get the lift you need out of them. If you just park them, you fall.

Something that is confirmed by some jerks on some populated beaches, but the majority of us are actually quite normal.
I very much disagree  We are seemingly arrogant and oblivious to the world around us like any good addictive personality type in the midst of their obsession. :bye:
