Re: Flysurfer Soul

Although....having flown Speed and Soul I can’t imagine anyone choosing the former after they fly the Soul. This is a very interesting point. Let me say first of all that I'm really looking forward to test the Soul but for the moment it didn't happen. In these cases, the brain (and the monkey) give...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I did not yet have the opportunity to test the Soul but I saw a 12 and a 15 on the beach and flying. Seems it's really a great kite, maybe too "LEI like" for Speed lovers but for sure innovative. There's one thing that disappointed me a little bit: the bag. The kite comes with a, let me say, "poor" ...

Re: Weight difference

Thanks to you all for the answers guys, very interesting. About the foil kites, I understand that they work and behave in a very different way (I own a Speed 5 21), so they can't be directly compared to inflatables. My question is more related to the difference between full framed 3 or 5 struts kite...

Weight difference

I'm wondering what is the actual weight difference between a single strut and a standard 5 strut kite, e.g. a 12 or so. The question is not curiosity only. Yesterday, waiting for the wind (that eventually came!), we were talking about foil kites and single strut kites in light wind. A friend of mine...

Re: Epirb? flares? 2 way radio set to maritime channel, cell ph in a waterproof case?

For me, always mobile phone in my vest. It may seem incredible that nobody notice someone who needs help but it happens. First of all, on our lake there's a time of the day, late afternoon, with a particular light condition: you just can see quite nothing at water level until you're very close. Seco...

Re: What's the dumbest thing you have seen a newbie do?

In Como lake a floatation device is mandatory and I always wear one. That said, I don't like this thing in the waves.

Re: What's the dumbest thing you have seen a newbie do?

Some years ago, I sold my first kite in very good conditions to a guy. After some times, he came back to me quite upset asking where to connect the front lines since "there wasn't any connector". He thought that the kite was damaged or without the bridles. I had to explain him that the Core XR has t...

Re: biggest regret purchase

Normally it's the wife...
Joking of course. Maybe the Flying Carpet. I enjoyed it only one season in super light winds, then I really desired something more funny and alive. So I switched to a Shinn Bronq XL and I discovered the absolute.
