Re: Initial direction of body dragging to retrieve board

I don't think it completely doesn't matter, it depends on the situations. In my home spot, the chop is not oriented in the same direction of the wind but about 45°, due to several facts. So it's always a good idea to body drag first of all against the chop since the board is being pushed in the oppo...

Re: Relaunching a kite while holding board

I simply keep the board on my feet. If the situation is difficult (lines tangled, inverted kite etc.), I hook the board to my roll leash, that I carry exactly for this reason, so that I'm free to move and I can take my time to fix the problem. Then I unhook the board and start again. Please note tha...

Re: Second TwinTip

I own a Bronq 136x42, good from 14/15 knots with my 11. When it's lighter I prefer my Bronq XL 150x50. It's big but you feel like it's small, an incredible board. The "problem" with the Bronq 42 in comparison with other board apparently same size is that they are very rockered and "oval", so the "re...

Re: Light? Interesting what this will be about...

Hajvar, I agree but I don't think that Core speaking about the 12 low end is referring to a 60 kgs. pro rider in perfect flat water and steady wind while F-One is referring to a 90 kgs. kook in choppy water and gusty winds… I think every brand refers to "standard" conditions. My question is what's t...

Re: Light? Interesting what this will be about...

Some data from the websites: Airush Ultra V2, the most advanced and lighter kite they ever built. Size 12, wind range declared: 10-22 (http://airush.com/kites/ultra-v2/). Core XR 5, 5 struts, for sure not the lighter kite out there. Size 12, wind range declared: 10-24 (https://corekites.com/us/kites...

Re: Kitech FRS

i Tomtom, I read the review. If I'm not wrong, you wrote only that the FRS is faster and has only a little less power than the Soul, so you preferred the Kitech. I was asking if someone tested the two head to head more deeply (relaunch, upwind, downwind etc.) or maybe with a TT. Very nice review any...

Re: Nobile foil board nightmare!

Two years ago, I had a problem with a nearly two years old Shinn board. Contacted the shop, they made me cut in two the old board and sent a brand new one but not the model I had, the last one. Since that dey, I bought another Shinn board. Same happened with Core kites many years ago, they supported...

Re: Cabrinha Contra vs. Core XR5 15 m

I own a Core XR 15 but it's an XR2, so take the opinion for what it's worth. I originally bought the 17, than I switched to the 15 because on our lakes it's often gusty and I felt the 17 really frightening sometimes. There's a difference in the very low range between the two (maybe one knot), but wh...

Re: What is the international signal for "Abort launch"?

In our home spot the launch area is extremely tricky. The kiter stays in chest high water while the helper is on the top of a public tiled promenade where people and bikers transit all the time. So the procedure for the helper is: kindly stop the people (and always thank them after launching), wait ...
