Re: Core kites and kiteboarding industry sales this year

I think that windsurfing was killed also for the "extremization" of the materials. Speaking about kite, they are for sure expensive but once you bought a good 12 (or a size that fits the standard conditions of your home spot) and a board, 90% of the work is done. The you normally add a smaller kite ...

Re: Custom Hardshell made in shop.. would it work?

Customization can be good, but I agree that if you're not the world champion you'll for sure find an harness that fits perfectly, it's only a matter of patience. Just go in a good shop and take your time to test. Also, there are some other points that must be considered. First of all: 99% of the tim...

Re: Poll: Underpowered or Overpowered

Some years ago I was (moderately) on the overpowered side. My "standard" sail was the Core XR 15 LW. After being lofted by a gust, I feel much more comfortable with a sail that is always under total control. Since the wind can be quite gusty here on the lake, when it's blowing 10-20-10 (it happens) ...

Re: Core and German engineering meme

I own 2012 Core Sensor bar (first model), original lines, never had a problem. I don't ride 180 days a year but considering it's a 2012...

Re: Duotone...North who?

Actually, I don't care about the name: I need glasses to read and I don't use them in the water. Once my kite is in the air I can't read the brand name any more! :-))))))))))))))))))))

Re: Casualty in Sicily

I'm not an expert of bars but my Core bar seems to be totally unaware of load The release mechanism is rotative and does not "depend" on the chicken loop load, they are two completely separate thing. There's no relation between the rotation of the safety mechanism and the CL load, once the safety ro...

Re: selfish short term kite industry

IMO the point is not where the industry marketing is aimed to, but who can afford very expensive brand new stuff. Kitesurfing is a niche sport, expensive from day one. Statistically, 50ers are richer than young guns (average, there are also young billionaires but they seem to enjoy much more big yac...

Re: Casualty in Sicily

You will for sure pardon my poor english since this will be a long post. I was thinking yesterday night about the accident. Apparently, every of us here in front of our pc screen is cautious and reasonable. The video of the squall coming speaks for itself, it's a totally no go situation. It's so eas...
