Re: The best Kite for heavy riders?

Rode Cabrinha Crossbow LW series 16, 13 and 9 for 2012/2013.
They pull like a truck and enjoyed them as they are great quality kites.
Just changed my quiver this year to Core XR3 19, 13.5 and 9.
German quality, not cheap but you get what you pay for.
6'2" 290 lbs plus gear weight and water.

Re: Cabrinha 2012 leading edge - thinner material

I have first hand experience in this. Yes I believe the bladder is thinner. I have three 2012 LW kites and last fall I had the 13M kite blow the leading edge bladder just after pumping it up on the sand. There was nothing sharp nor was it folded. I don't think they can take as much pressure. The kit...

Re: Sliding Dynabar for a student?

Once anyone uses the Dynabar, you will not return to a regular fixed hook again.
Everything is so much easier.

Hatteras rules have changed

Everyone: I just returned from Cape Hatteras outer banks NC the week before last and since April when I was there, the rules have changed for kiteboarding and windsurfing. See the attached document for the locations. I understood from a local IKO instructor the reason was the Triple S event this sum...

Re: Elephant legs wetsuits

Read on a forum about a month ago and tried it and it works beautifully! Use a soldering iron and with the flat tip vertical I came up about 3" on back side of leg and with hot iron pushed it through the suit and back out. This seals the neoprene from running or splitting. It puts about a 1/2 " spli...
