King of the Air question

I saw on the live stream that all the competitors had to wear impact vests. Which could have a pocket in it for a competition GPS Also that 70% of the score was based on height of the jump. With so many GPS devices available today I'm surprised that each competitors wasn't given a GPS to wear that w...

Re: The Kiter and the Whale

Great experience seeing the whales. I was once talking with an American fisheries office and told him about windsurfing in Maui and a whale surface close to me. He informed me that a fisheries officer had been there to see the encounter I might have gotten a ticket because a boater is not allowed to...

Re: Kwajalein, Marshall Islands

I was there 10 yrs ago and got to windsurf. At that time the individual I was on the water with told me they could only surf in the lagoon and not on the outside. Water was very warm 90f plus but that day I had a great sail. I suspect the trouble might be the launch and the fact the MPs might consid...

Just asking; why the body drag if you can kite right off the beach and out the corridor?

Re: Fitting kiteboard gear inside Mitsubishi Evolution?

I have an STI hatch. Works well for kiting; I have a kite golf bag that fits very well in either side with one of the back seats down. Bag holds twin tip (142), 3 kites, pump, bars and harness plus one kite bag. When I looked at the EVO Lancer I found the trunk very small with the battery back there...

Re: Solution to wet wetsuits!

If I'm in spot with a shower I shower with it on and take it off in the shower. When it comes off it is usually inside out and that how I leave it to dry cause I don't care if the outside is wet.

Big wooden or plastic hangar works fine.

Re: Seaking helicopter incident leaves kite surfer injured

I agree with above post. As an ex military pilot I know that the base/ Navy would like to know how badly they could injure a kiter with such actions. That would lead to bad press which neither party wants.

Send a message to the Base ops and just the facts; they will sort it out.

Peru at Christmas

Just wondering where the best kiting is in Peru. And is there anything that I should really know as non-spanish speaking heading to that country for the first time. I may be headed that way in December.

Re: Max wind a quadcopter can handle? Yes, to shoot riders!

I was recently in Nassau, Paradise Island for work when a film crew showed up with a quad- copter with a HD camera and a pro operator. They tested it over the resort area and then changed the power pack to fly it out over the beach; as they flew it out about 100 meters off the beach which was closed...
