Re: Hydrofoil choice

I know that Alpine has a hybrid board http://www.alpinefoil.com/kitefoil-windfoil-shop/kitefoil-foilboard-board/planche-cx-v6s-wave-convertible.html and their foils are excellent. F-one has the Mitu convertible board http://www.f-onekites.com/Products/Surfs/Produit/MITU-MONTEIRO-pro-model-convertibl...

Re: Which watch for real-time speed read out

I am quite happy with TomTom Multisport -- speed displayed in big digits, easy to see while kiting. From reading the manual looks like no max speed recorded and no knots as unit. Your experience? How easy to download session and maybe see max speed? Thanks R H I have never used knots as a speed uni...

Re: RRD bar with Airush kite

I have an RRD 4 line bar from, I think 2012 or 2013. I'm thinking of buying an Airush Ultra, and would like to know if i will be able to use it, instead of buying a new bar. Should work fine, I suppose. I have an ozone bar that I am using with Airush, RRD and Gaastra kites, no problem. Some company...

Re: Alaia Repairs

My Naish Alaia glass is worn to the mat in places (dark blue arrow examples) and corners are chipped out (light blue arrows). I made a foam pipe wrap (wrapped in tape) protector to prevent future transport corners/edges/tip damage (bottom picture). Looking for tips on what to use to fill & seal the...

Re: Stupid beginner question - waves in your face?

Wearing a vest with some buoyancy (e.g. impact vest) helps, the head gets less time under water.

Re: Dying after board start

Make sure your kite is big enough for the wind you are kiting in. If you are using a kite too small, it is very hard to get it up to speed. Also I know some learners who have benefited from this waterstart technique: when putting your board on keep your kite low (like 10 o'clock), then start by quic...

Re: Building HF-board; as light as possible, what construction?

I am in the process of making a board of similar dimensions (125x46cm) but mine is thicker(4.5cm). Made it from XPS foam, the bottom has 200g carbon and 110g glass, a bit more around the foil box, the top has 200g carbon + 110g glass plus the deck area has additional 200g carbon plus the foil box ar...
