Re: Fiji - Tavarua

I'm 100% speculating, although I have kited South Pacific 3x, but not Tavarua. If you don't bring it you will need it. I would bring a big kite & a smaller kite. If it goes off, you'll be bummed you didn't have it. Use the vacuum bags to compress them. Good luck.

Re: Naish Maui Pro Center Closed - Bummed

I don’t know if Naish is in trouble but Hawaii is insanely expensive... I want to start by saying DWX I'm not picking on you by saying this but....a lot of places in California are MORE expensive than Maui. Definitely sections of San Francisco, down in sections of the Cal Central Coast (where I liv...

Re: Naish Slash 12m - any feedback on it, pls?

sorry, slighly off topic but got the 2017 Pivots, all i do is ride waves, and they seem really awesome. looks like the middle is fat, the windtips are thin but extend back quite a bit. i am guessing what that does is stabilize the kite in flight. I flew it on a super gusty day & the thing would not ...

Re: Naish Maui Pro Center Closed - Bummed

I know, it's a bummer. I live in the middle of nowhere in California & we have barely 1 kiteshop about 50 miles away. Going to Maui & walking into shops with all the gear is always hella cool. Holding boards, paddles in your hands & comparing the models is really cool. I bought 2 sups from Naish & l...

Naish Maui Pro Center Closed - Bummed

Bummed that the Naish Center on Maui is closed permanently. I always had great service there when I visited Maui. Bought a couple SUP boards there. Was always totally stoked to see all the gear in one spot. I really hope someone on Maui carries some Naish gear. Doesn't make sense to me as it is the ...

Re: Any kiters here saved the lives of swimmers?

Yes but I wasn't kiting. I was at a westside resort beach on Maui during the huge Eddie swell 2 years ago. There were big waves at the south of the beach & a rip which streamed north sucking out at the north end of the beach. Some people were getting sucked into it. An overweight 50+ year old man on...

Re: Pivot Unbaised Review. Good Kite For Surf?

Got the kites. They look awesome. Question - manual says you must deflate the struts by opening the the valve on the struts? There is no workaround to make it so you can just open the main deflate valve & have the whole kite deflate? Seems like a pain.

Re: Ram airs crash in 2017

It's funny. Way back in the beginning of kiting when it was Flexifoil Blades vs inflatables, I was constantly told everything that the op was saying. I used to kite on a 4.9 Blade, day after day after day at a famous surf spot in Southern California. Wave after wave after wave. I would have a blast....
