Re: Stiff or soft fins for kite surfing

Has anyone ever used a service like?https://finatic.com/

I have gone through dozens of fins over the years sometimes with unexpected results. Good and bad. If you get a lot of water time a service like this seems like a good option to figure out what fins you like best??

Re: Modern wave kite

I remember the old issues with pullies jamming and burning through bridles and /or bridle burning into the pullies. I think materials and construction used for both have improved since. Core uses pullies. No issues with them on my last Core quiver that was 6 years old when sold. I currently ride the...

Re: Sugar / epoxy deck grip

There is probably a reason why most people still use deckpads and wax instead of built-in solutions, but my feet hurt too much from the numerous cuts to think about it. This type of grip has been used for decades in windsurfing. I have used it on my windsurfers and some of my surfboards for kiting....

Re: Cape Hatteras has a new island!

Didn't an experienced kiter go missing in that area back in 2011? Last seen near Cape Point just 30 feet from shore in distress and without his kite and board?

Re: Don't show us your hook

Nothing wrong with replacing the chicken loop with a shackle. But that style will bind under load (i.e. semi flagged death looping kite). Seen it and experienced it myself both as chickenloop and on kite leash. Needed all the strength in both arms to release it. Took longer than needed in an emergen...

Re: Peter Lynn Hornet 2.0m sucks!

Just to confirm your line connection is correct. Front lines are your steering lines they go to the ends of the bar. Rear lines to the center. It's not a depower strap. It's a trim strap used to trim your rear lines (i.e. compensate for front line stretch). The rear lines shouldn't be too slack (poo...

Re: How to post a found board in OBX

Does the board look like it's been in the elements for awhile? A buddy lost a Duuk brand light wind board on a downwinder from Planet to Salvo last April. Has a dog taking a crap for a logo.

He's there right now until Saturday.
