Re: What fin set up are people using on directional?

When searching you should be able to find enough fin discussions (here and somewhere else). About one setup turning faster then the other: this needs a bit more specification. In general a thruster will turn easier on a smaller surface (a small arch), but a quad will turn with a higher arch speed (b...

Re: Firewire Vader, Fins recommendations

I love the AM3's, there small and versatile. But forces you to use the rail a bit more. About the inside foil: my opinion is based on experience, but I'm allways open to new insides. I tried the Vanguard with a foil and did not like it (as I did not like foils in the past with other boards). But it ...

Re: Firewire Vader, Fins recommendations

FCS "single" plugs can provide more tail flex, but only when not attached to the deck. A small problem with FCS could be that the screws have a slight tendency to losen due to fibration in the fin. With the current block with two plugs: comparable flex pattern to Futures, depending on attaching the ...

Re: Firewire Vader, Fins recommendations

Every damn fin thread needs this link posted because 1/2 the people here who comment on fins don't know what they're talking about. https://futuresfins.com/en-us/fin-school/foil +1 NCM is correct. I've now counted several posts indicating this fact. Why can't anyone here understand this? So far the...

Re: Strapless surfboard for 205 to 225 rider

Riding strapless for 8 years now, owned lots of customs, some kite brands, tested a lot. Owned a Vanguard 5.2 & 5.4, own a Vader 5.5. Weight: around 203. Not every Tomo like board is equal... I did not test all look alikes, but tried some and the result where... different. I am a Tomo addict. If you...

Re: New to a surfboard

Since you have a windsurfing background there will be no problem waterstarting. Just as a "sinker" in the old days: use your feet to control the board and get the board below your behind while standing up.

Re: Firewire Vader

If you can't paddle it is almost impossible to use a Vader in any kite size to surf. Hire a soft-top locally to have some fun.
