Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

This raises the question then: was the real kickass value of the RE innovation the hard shell style? Or the fact that they were custom molded for each individual's body shape? Probably depends on how unusual someone's body is. However, the real value is in the hard shell that distributes the pressu...

Re: Liftfoils materials and durability

The Lift foils seem like a really nice design that ride great. However, I know firsthand of someone who had 2 of their wings delaminate and come apart this summer. Appears they are foam inside and not solid carbon fiber. I prefer solid carbon fiber foils for durability, even if they are a bit heavier.

Re: Hardshell harnesses and traveling

Uh, wrap it around your kite, put in travel bag and you're good to go. Better than laying flat as it partially protects a kite & doesn't take up much room.

Re: Ripstop on new kites

Hmm, I don't think I can agree with most comments here. I remember the single strand material well, I experienced multiple pinholes, punctures & tears every season. I even had a kite rip totally in half while flying, likely due to a small unseen hole. I was a frequent customer at the kite repair sho...

Re: Evo vs Vader?

I've owned both a Vader & Evo. Great boards and I found both work better as a thruster. The Vader is more power hungry than the Evo and needs more wind. If you mainly ride in high winds with 9m & smaller kites then get a Vader. If you ride in a variety of conditions with a lot of 12m+ days then go f...

Re: Sanding / Painting my Sword 2

3. Trailing Edge treatment. George has another video where he says to sand the trailing edges of mast and wings "square" with a sanding block in order to eliminate noise from your foil. I tried this numerous times over several months. It made it WORSE. Way worse. I had the same experience when I sa...

Re: Boardbag for FireWire Evo

DaKine makes a nice day bag that works well. I have one of these for my Evo, https://www.dakine.com/sport/surf/surfb ... d-bag.html
They also offer a 5'8" version if you want something a bit longer.
