Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Here is a great video showcasing what it's like to ride serious onshore windswell:

https://vimeo.com/145826916

You can easily paddle in to this kind of onshore windswell on a prone surfboard.

You can link 2-4 turns on the wave.

It's not pretty, but it's definitely surfing!

Re: What's the best thing about kite surfing?

I think the best thing about kitesurfing is that it turns what 95% of the people in the world consider shitty conditions in to perfect conditions.

There is also something super zen about the wind / wave combo that's hard to describe.

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Direct on shore, you are not really wave riding in my view (as Plummet said - define wave riding!) In these conditions, you are playing in waves. Here, any all around kite is fine, including Naish Pivot. I disagree with this. If you are riding the face of the wave then you are riding waves, regardl...

other sponsors (GoPro and Red Bull) probably provide enough $$$$$$ without the restrictions.
I would bet Kai's highest paying salary sponsor is by far Nike.

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

If I had the cash to burn on a 120L SUP with a foil track and a Naish Thrust Foil I would totally give it a go for foiling with my 12m kite. reasons: - I like the adventure of going places when foiling, often 5 km downwind then 10 km back upwind. Having a 120L SUP to knee paddle back on if the wind ...

Re: Anyone kiting in the Sinai Peninsula?

I don't think there is too much kiting in Sharm.

The two big kite spots on Sinai are Dahab and Ras Sudr. I haven't been there since the airplane bombing but I would imagine things would still be going full swing there.

There is also great kiting off of Sinai around Hurghada.

Re: Kiteboarding the Salton Sea

I've seen videos of swarms of flies at the shore that would keep me from investigating.

I hope you guys move away from unequal line lengths via the lack of 2 pigtails that you've been doing in the past and provide 4 pigtails at even lengths for this new system John.
Hooray, for 2018 it looks like Ocean Rodeo have finally relented to sanity and will use 4 equal lines.

Re: Recommend me 12-13m kite for strapless freestyle w/ excellent low end?

I'm very happy with my LF Solo 12m for strapless freestyle, especially with my finless skim in as low as 10 knots (73 kg).

Re: Shinn El Stubbo

el Stubbo was filling nicely the gap for somebody who was mainly foiling but wanted to be able to ride it with fins and wanted something shorter than the Shinnster. That's not too much of a gap though. I think if you have the requirement for riding foil or not you have to accept some length in your...
