Re: Board for a (very) tail and heavy guy

Thanks :) But nobody that is a bit heavier has experience with the flyradical 4 or 5? How stiff they are etc.

*edit*: I doubt the Wing is a useful addition next to my door ;)

Board for a (very) tail and heavy guy

Hi everybody, I have a little problem for quite some time that really prevents me progressing. Why are most boards so tiny :-? I'm around 110kg (and quite a lot over the 2 meter so losing some weight will only help a little bit) and in the last 2 years I have mostly used a Flydoor. Great board, exce...

Re: How long you can hold a Flydoor?

It sucks in serious windy with chop conditions. I have used it up to ~30 knots in guts (or more like a 5 min period where the wind really picked up, measured by a windstation afterwards) and that was more or less by accident. I used a 12m Catalyst, but even with my 110-115 kg I had serious issues to...

Re: How long have you been Kiting & what level are you at

15 months and still a beginner :( But simply too busy with my own company to go on a regular base and i want to FINALLY get my degree next summer.

And now it's freaking cold so i skip probably the next 4-5 months. Or order for myself as a late christmass gift a drysuit.

Re: a good kite for light wind?

Aha :) Yes i have a 2013 catalyst. I understand every design will result in different behavior, but what i tried to ask is if its possible to say something about a aspect ratio of x will result in behavior y, so its possible to find for example a top 3 of most likely suitable lw kites.

Re: a good kite for light wind?

Hehe nice try :D I do indeed read all i can find about it and readed already the full topic and most other topics that showed up on Google. I'm still a beginner but i'm mostly attracted to freeride and freestyle. Pretty wide, i know, but in time i will know better what the direction will be i want t...

Re: Shipping issue

In my experience (but thats not with kite related equipment) its for some weird reason way cheaper to ship from Asia to Europe instead the other way around... But the local post office should be able to help.

I'm still a beginner but i'm mostly attracted to freeride and freestyle. Pretty wide, i know, but in time i will know better what the direction will be i want to go. I understand that looping with a big kite isn't really possible but some big jumps is probably also very nice. And when i go to some t...

Re: a good kite for light wind?

I have only a 138x42 TT but atm my low end with a 12M Cat isn't really low  . So i thinking about buying a door + lw kite to have at least a low end of 14-15 kn and everything lower is better. I have no idea what kind of wind we have in Holland :)

Re: a good kite for light wind?

What would you guys suggest for a heavy (110 kg) beginner? A Zephyr or a 17m Cloud and why? :)
