Re: Kiteboarding kit advise (Heavy rider)

The turbine is fine, but a 14m rally would be a consideration. Not quite the light wind kite the turbine is, but grunty, handles a bit better and certainly water relaunches better. You might find that quite useful when learning. The turbine will give you a couple of knots on the low end though. You ...

Re: Slingshot kite woes

Just an update. Alex from Slingshot USA has responded to my email, was concerned by my problem and is shipping a part to me free of charge from America. Great service from Slingshot, so I guess the weak link was the importer TKC UK.

Re: Slingshot kite woes

I tried a flat plate but it was limited. The back of the plate is hollow, so the sides stop the rope bulging out sideways. If it did bulge, it would impede the movent of the QR box. Under the countersink, it also has a depth of a couple mm, it looks like two circles, one of which sits inside rope lo...

Re: Slingshot kite woes

I've already contacted Kitemare, but thanks. It's a current guardian bar. One side is cleat, the other side this plate holds rope.

Re: Slingshot kite woes

I've used Slingshot kit since 2002, and never really had any problems, and not bashing them. I can't get part from UK, and on their website Slingshot list it, but don't sell direct. So I'm in a bit of a corner.

Slingshot kite woes

After changing rope on Compstick Guardian bar, I dropped the rope cover plate into the shingle never to be seen again. After contacting TKC (uk importer), and waiting 1 1/2 weeks for a reply, they neither have, nor will order the part. I now have a £350.00 bar that I can't use because of a 5$ part. ...

Re: Boring pump question

The one I tried was yellow. All my pumps have a flat lid, this was domed.

Boring pump question

Can't believe I'm asking about pumps, but here goes. I borrowed a new north pump today. Sooo much easier than my old flat top north and slingshot pumps. The old ones are clean and maintained and feel much the the same as when they where new. What makes the newer style domed head north pump so much e...

Re: Toeside on a surfboard losing power

Watch a windsurfer go upwind. They keep board flat and drive off fin. Kite surfboard is not too far off this. Let the fins do their job, which they can't if the boards raked on its side too much. The fins provide lift as much as grip. Finding balance point as above is a good idea. Too much back foot...

Re: Which strapless board to get ?

I would second north nugget. Gets going quickly and quite forgiving. Slingshot do a space pickle (bamboo) which is near identical. If your going to go out in big waves then look for a more conventional shape. To the above, boards are not bamboo as such, it's just really a paper thin laminate, and no...
